“Cave is a project conceived for Pombal palace. In my imaginary were the Villa Livia and Pompeii’s frescoes in Italy, as well as my promenades through the Lisbon’s Botanical Garden. I was interested in exploring the palatial reminiscent large format paintings, and in a rescue attempt, create pictorial portals to imaginary gardens.”
Maria Condado will exhibit two paintings that bind to the exhibition space itself. The experience of the spaces (especially the garden) eventually ended up contaminating her work.
