The work process started with the compilation of books and other materials related to the topics mentioned above and specifically the work of Virginia Woolf. Ives Klein and Mayra Kalman are also a strong visual influence in the artist´s development of this residency.
BIOGRAPHY
Renata Cruz (Araçatuba, 1964) graduated in Visual Communication at Unesp, Bauru, SP (1984) and Artistic Eduction at Unaerp, Ribeirão Preto, SP (1990). As a foreign student, she attended Facultad de Bellas Artes de la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Espanha (1993). Postgraduation in Integrative Art, Anhembi Morumbi, São Paulo, SP (2003) and she's currently attending Ateliê Fidalga in São Paulo, SP since 2004. Between the exhibitions where she participated are “Frestas- Trienal de Artes” – Sesc Sorocaba – Sorocaba, SP; “Proposta para atualização de uma enciclopédia”- Blau Projects – São Paulo, SP; “Decifrações” – Espaço Ecco – Brasília, DF (2014); “The summer is on” – Blau Projects – São Paulo, SP ; “Sistema de trocas”- Quase Galeria-Porto, Portugal; “Exhibition Opening” - Projecto Correspondencia - E/L STUDIO, Washington, USA; “Classificação por espécies” - DConcept Escritório de Arte – São Paulo, SP; “Boite Invalidem” – Galerie Invaliden, Berlin, Alemanha; “16 Bienal de Cerveira” – Cerveira, Portugal. She develops her work through a collage thought, where she tries to join different times and spaces creating another time and space. Inside that thought she prioritize the new relations between texts and images, inorder to offer to the world's elements a character from the literary universe at the same time that literature enters her everyday life. Currently her research relies in relation with São Paulo city, the life of its locals and the public spaces where they transit.
