Diogo Simões
The work that Diogo Simões produced for exhibition at Carpe Diem Arte e Pesquisa is the result of a piece of photographic research that took place over the course of a year. During this time his focus returned to different environments and suburban zones. Portraits and places in neutral tones and symbols of resistance and of permanence emerge in constant mutation. Spaces and people are moulded together creating a kind of synergy that goes beyond the boundaries that defining this architectural dimension.
Diogo Simões was born in Miratejo, Portugal in 1988. After completing an undergraduate in Photography at the Instituto Politécnico de Tomar (2007-2010) he studied for a Posgraduate in Photography, Projects and Contemporary Art at the Atelier de Lisboa – IPA (2010-2011). He is currently enrolled in a Masters in Painting at the Faculdade de Belas-Artes, Lisboa.
