Sara Bichão (2013/2014)

Project

RECHEIO / DRESSING was developed during the artistic residency at Carpe Diem Arte e Pesquisa, between 2013 and January 2014. Following site-specific orientations this is the result of Sara Bichão’s experience within the Pombal Palace (PP). RECHEIO / DRESSING gathers and composes what were, through a spectral point of view, member parts of Pombal Palace. Through symptoms of possession and memory games, the artist seized those vestiges and transformed them in new objects, using color and/or form. Sara Bichão chose to spend her last month of residency working at the exhibition room where she produced an installation that puts together several scales, hoping to create a discovery position, between the trails of the Palace and the rhythms of contemporary communication.
